There are lots of articles written about the benefits of Executive Coaching and I have shared a few with you recently. So I thought it was about time I shared my views on this too. To that end, here are my top 3 benefits of Executive Coaching (and I didn’t find it at all easy picking my top three!):

1. Compassionate Support

Work can be tough, especially as a leader. It can be hard to be open and honest with work colleagues or your boss for fear of judgement or retribution. Coaching gives you a safe, discrete space to explore what you’re thinking, how you’re feeling and what’s happening as a result. A Coach listens without judgement and has no ulterior motive or hidden agenda. Ultimately they only want what’s best for you because they know that will be what’s best for the business too.

2. Quality Thinking Time

Coaching sessions ensure you take time out from your busy day to day schedule. They give you an increasingly rare opportunity to be on the business, not in it. A chance to step back, review, reflect and refine what you and your team are doing.

3. Cognitive Flexibility

Everything starts with our thinking. If our thinking is flawed, our outputs are flawed. And yet we can be very rigid in our views, opinions and hence decisions. Coaching encourages you to look at things from different perspectives, to challenge preconceived ideas, to notice unconscious biases, to change limiting beliefs and so on. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities and options. The very essence of Coaching.

So those are my top 3. I’d love to hear what yours are too!
